Cat Trip
Details / FAQs

  • Who am I skiing/riding with?

You pick who you ski/ride with. One person books and pays for the whole cat and this group leader is the person responsible for putting together a group they feel comfortable skiing/riding with.

The cost to reserve the cat for the day is $3850. This is flat rate for up to 12 guests maximum.

  • When do cat trips run?

ALMR cat trips typically start mid-January and run through March (snowpack dependent). Trips run during our operating days, Thursday through Sundays, leaving the base area at 8am and returning by 4pm.

  • What is the terrain like?

The Anthony Lakes Cat Ski terrain accesses 2,000 acres of variable terrain, including steeps, bowls, glades and other fun and dynamic areas. Skiable terrain always depends on weather, snowfall, and conditions.

  • How many runs do I get?

The number of runs is a function of skiable terrain and the ability of the group. Full day trips average about 8 runs and anywhere from 1,000 to 1,700 vertical feet per run.

  • What level skier/rider do I need to be?

You must be an intermediate or advanced skier/rider and able to ski in all weather and snow conditions, especially powder as there is no grooming. It is not recommended that this be your first powder experience.

  • What is included? Do I need my own beacon/shovel/probe/backpack?

All trips include the use of a beacon. Shovels and probes are available as well. There is room on the cat for you to bring a small pack. Lunch, snacks, water, and hot chocolate are provided for full day trips.

  • Are powder skis available to rent or demo?

Anthony Lakes has a very small quantity of demo powder skis available. If you are traveling from out of the area, it is recommended that you bring skis with you.

  • How many people can go on a trip?

Ladybug (our beloved snowcat) holds 12 guests.

  • How much is it?

The cost to reserve the entire cat for the day is $3850 (+ guide gratuities). This is flat rate for up to 12 guests maximum. A 50% non refundable deposit is due at booking.

  • Are there any discounts available?

If you reserve the entire cat (12 seats), then you receive the 12th seat free.

  • When is the best time to book a trip?

As with many areas in the Northwest, weather changes rapidly. We see great snow well into spring some years, and sometimes we are stuck in high pressure in January. Regardless, our cat trips have a great experience just getting out to ski/ride with friends!

  • Does ALMR guarantee conditions?

Anthony Lakes cannot guarantee conditions. As per the above, weather and conditions change quickly at high elevations. Should Anthony Lakes management deem conditions unsafe, the trip will be cancelled.

  • How do I book a trip?

A 50% nonrefundable deposit is due at booking. Reservations are made by contacting matt@anthonylakes.com. Reservations are required.
